My husband , daughter, granddaughter and I went to Florida to visit our son. We also wanted to go to the beach while we were there visiting, rain or sunshine, just as long as we made it to the beach. As it turned out on our visit to the beach , it was not raining but windy, cloudy and overcast. After we were there for awhile I noticed that none of us had put on any sun screen and by the time we did, we were all burnt.
This just happened to be on a Sunday and all the health food store were closed. I wanted to purchase some essential oil of lavender to soothe our burns. My son had some lotion that contained aloe vera which is also good for burns. As it is with most of these lotions, there is very little amounts of the botanicals. The lotion soothed our burn to some degree, but we were still uncomfortable.
The next morning my son went to a health food store and purchased a bottle of pure essential oil of lavender. We all bathed our skin with the wonderful oil, Ahh what a relief it was. I could feel the heat being pulled from my burn. We were all still very red , but the pain was totally gone.
The moral to my story is I will never go to the beach again without the pure essential oil of lavender. It works every time!
Lavender oil can be used on the skin straight from the bottle or mixed in a carrier oil, such as almond, olive , jojoba etc. Mix it as strong as needed, 10 to 50 drops to an ounce of carrier oil.
